5/28/14 - First Day On The Job

Today my small group members (Allie and Patrick) and I had our first day working at billfaster, a small Irish invoicing and accounting software company based out of Dublin. For the past few weeks, we have been doing some preliminary research for BF in regards to their route-to-market strategy. In other words, what is the most cost effective way to expose consumers (especially in the US) to billfaster and increase the conversion rate from sign up to paying member. It's a large project, but we made a lot of progress today and agreed to a plan of action (which I won't share here to protect BF's privacy).

This project has been a great experience; we are so lucky to have professionals in Ireland who want to work with us and care about what we think and have to say. We are located in what is called the Media Cube; a building dedicated to housing the offices of start up companies, often created by local college graduates. Ireland, especially Dublin, has such a great culture for start up companies. The government offers great supports and incentives for small businesses and the atmosphere is just really young, vibrant and creative in the city.  We will be working with billfaster for one more day this week before we go to Belfast, and then a couple more days next week as well. Should be fun!
